Protection fitting for the Swiss Federal Assembly

Protection fitting for the Swiss Federal Assembly

Bundeshaus Bild Gross 2

Protection fitting from the manufactory for the President of the Council of States

The Swiss Parliament Building – known colloquially as the ‘Federal Palace’ – was built at the end of the 19th century and still impresses with its magnificent Renaissance Revival-style architecture.

A fitting solution for the Bundeshaus had to preserve the historic look of the building, fulfil the requirements for the preservation of historical monuments and also meet the building’s high security demands.

The protection fitting complies with the strictest security demands and is based on ES2 for RC3 doors.

Customised fitting solution to meet high security demands

A customised technical solution was developed to satisfy the building’s security demands.

External fitting

The outside lever handle is a brass casting of the original. The plate and rose are made of stainless steel. The exterior has been burnished.

Internal fitting

The inside plate is a reinterpretation of the historic long plate. A brass casting was made of the original lever handle. The screws meet the requirements for Class ES2 protection fittings.

Lock

A 18951 MINT SB by Glutz is used as the lock.
